New York native X. Dean Lim (XDL) interrupted a perfectly good Manhattan stereotype when he moved to Los Angeles to become a writer - an entirely different
stereotype.
A product of the digital film-making revolution, he averages a project every 10 days.
Recently he has served as a digital film-making consultant at JWP & McFilms (”ER” , “West Wing”, & “Over There”) and technical advisor on the SONY/ Screen Gems release “Prom Night” - produced by Neal Moritz (”Fast and the Furious”, “Scream”).
His commercial work includes Primus Long Distance, Infinity Car Insurance, Walmart, California First Five, Toyota, Nestle, Make-A-Wish Foundation and Carls Jr along with a catalog of public service announcements.
He credits his second life as a magazine writer - interviewing some of the industry’s biggest names - as his film-school.
At present he has not studied writing / directing / editing / photography or film-making.
